Presentation 1

Group 5 2012 AS from Media @ CCC on Vimeo.
This is my groups presentation as we were given the task to answer the following question:
"does generic conventions Restrict or helper Film makers?"
We planned our presentation by making each person research and come up with a pro and or a con and then brainstorming what we could say in the presentation.
One thing we made very clear is that we wanted the presentation to be interesting so we didn't write loads on a PowerPoint and just read it out without making eye contact with our audience. So Connor volunteered to write up the PowerPoint by bullet pointing keywords and phrases but as the software was not correct for the schools computer we printed them out and used the PowerPoint as prompt notes this included:

Connor Intro - includes the question
Loua PRO;
Familiarity pleases audiences.
Solid Structure with Happy Endings.
Connor CON;
Does not allow variations.
Audience’s could get bored.
Victoria-Louise con;
Very Difficult to leave conventions.
(as it could develop to much into other) Sub genres.
(which would) Confuse audiences, if genre isn't clear.
(I don't think I said my bit that clearly)
Scott's CONS;
Films makers forced into making some predictable.
Restricts their creativity.
Connor - Conclusion this was our opinion this was that generic conventions do in general restrict film makers create movies because if you weigh up the cons to pros there are more cons.

I think the presentation went well because we didn't read it out and made eye contact, however it would have been better if we did more research and found more facts and figures through the internet.

  1. As we discussed there are so many blog posts to be completed so that you reach that high standard I showed you, and also what others have been doing; try to catch up and keep on top of your blogging Victoria-Louise. Set time aside each day. Lots to be done and evaluated!

    1. Is this enough detail for the presentations evaluation? I think I may have put too much detail for evaluating the groups research - opening thriller reviews. I need feedback so I know whether I'm going in the right direction now.
